2008 DeLand Fall Festival Featured Artist Sheila F. Crawford: A Spiritual Journey through Photography MORE ABOUT SHEILA
Woodland Boulevard blossoms into an artist's garden of color every November, as DeLand, Florida hosts the Annual Fall Festival of the Arts. Over 200 national artists will display and sell their art work in the historic downtown shopping district, just in time for holiday gift-giving.
This is an exciting, juried fine art show not to be missed! Discover the rich colors of imagination in paintings with brilliant blues, verdant greens, sultry reds, expressive pastels and stark black and white; in nature and wildlife scenes which reveal the old, the untamed Florida; in unique pottery, sculpture, woodwork; and in nature photography from around the country.
Although beautiful art work and distinguished jurors are the main attraction this weekend, DeLand, "The Athens of Florida", offers a totally delightful experience to the discerning visitor. Be sure to have lunch or dinner in one of DeLand's many fine restaurants, or grab a quick snack from one of the festival street vendors with their oh-so-tantalizing aromas of a variety of foods; don't forget to have a look-see in the many charming stores which will be open for your shopping convenience; enjoy strolling musicians playing a harmonic combination of light jazz, rhythm and blues, and pop country throughout the weekend; and, your small, aspiring artist can create his or her very own masterpiece at the Children's Hands-On Art Workshop.
Come for a weekend or a week! DeLand is conveniently located off I-4, Exit 118, between Daytona Beach and Orlando. This event is free and open to the public with convenient parking close to the outdoor exhibits. For more information about the Annual DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts, please call (386) 738-5705.
