Judges


Judges for the 2009 DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts are Lonnie Graham and Neil Watson.

Lonnie Graham is a photographer and serves as a Professor of Fine Arts at Pennsylvania State University, instructor at the Barnes Foundation in Marion, PA and visiting instructor of Graduate Studies at San Francisco Art Institute. He has served as Visiting Professor at Haverford College in Philadelphia, PA; Curator in Residence for Three Rivers Arts Festival and Director of Photography at Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild in Pittsburgh, PA. Graham serves as a site reviewer for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Graham attended Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with advanced degrees at San Francisco Art Institute. Graham has been featured at the Smithsonian Institution inWashington, D.C. with images and artifacts included in several traveling exhibitions. Graham’s work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of African American History in Detroit, Michigan; Philadelphia Museum of Art, in Philadelphia,PA; Delaware Museum of Art in Wilmington, Delaware and the Addison Gallery of American Art in Andover, MA.

Neil Watson has more than 25 years of experience in working in the art world and is currently the Executive Director of the Katonah Museum of Art in Katonah, New York. A 1976 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Mr. Watson’s experience includes being the chief curator of the Museum of Glass: International Center for Contemporary Art in Tacoma, WA; and Curator of Exhibitions and Contemporary Art at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, FL. He has curated exhibitions on a wide range of topics such as Burn: Artists Play With Fire and Animal as Muse and published numerous catalogue essays. Before coming to the Katonah Museum, Mr. Watson was the director of the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts.
